Why 6200 rev limiter for the LSA engine?

I've got the automatic and with the tune it shifts just fine at 6,400 rpm.

i just dont think the pistons can take the extra boost that comes w the higher rpm. im an n/a kind of guy, but dosnt boost go up with rpm ?

People are running 16+ pounds of boost with these pistons. I'm not saying for how long...but they are.

i dont think the LSa has the same blower as the LS9... i THINK. not fully sure

LSA has 1.9L blower and a single brick IC, LS9 has a 2.3L blower and a dual brick IC as noted above.

Design goals were 620 hp for the '9 and 550 for the 'A. Generally the "platform people" (those responsible for the overall car) decide how much power/torque they need and Powertrain people deliver that.

If the Camaro ever gets the SC engine, my bet is the LSA, not the LS9.

waking up this thread, since some of you guys have been at this for a while.

Has anyone upgraded the valvetrain to allow for more RPMs? How did that go, what options have you tried?
