I have this cam sitting in my shed and I would like to know if it will go straight into an LS3? I am looking at buying a new LS3 crate motor.

Are the "normal" LS1 cams the same or does the LS3 require a different cam?

ls1 ls6 ls2 share same cam design. ls3 and ls7 are different. i think....

As long as you're not running DOD or AFM, the cams and lifters are the same. I have the three bolt timing gear setup in my LS3 418. You might have to get a new timing set for your LS3 if it uses a single bolt top gear.

I had that same cam in my LS3 vette. All you need is the new cam gear that uses 3 bolts vs the stock LS3 having one. Liked the cam except for it having a few too many issues for my wife to handle. Made over 460 rwhp with almost that much torque. They named it appropriately. Cam I have now, 226/234 on a 114+2, made a few more peak hp, but was way down in the tq department. Better drivability though.

I don't want to highjack but can you go the other way? Cam ground with a single bolt going in a motor with a three bolt gear. Just change gears?
