20w50 on a DD 402 after break-in? Or stick with 10w30?

It's a Full Weight car minus the spare tire and jack. 123.4 mph was my best of the day and it was done at a track known to be a little slower than most. I'm gonna put in some 4.10's and take a little weight out to see if I cant get a 10.99 at a better track. Someone I knew ran a 11.2x there and a 10.99 at Bakersfield raceway picking up 2+ mph.

It's strange because after just ~50 miles driving with the 20W50 my hot idle is at ~40-45 now. I'm not at 4500 miles yet but I wasn't planning on going synthetic . . .
