Default Ls2 cam help

can i change a cam in a stock ls2 with out pulling the heads? someone once told me something about the lifters. that with the facotry plastic case that i role ingine once and it will lock them up? is this true? and i mean lock them up like they wont fall down untill i push them down

It's for an ls1, but its the same as an ls2. Read through the entire thing and it will answer any questions you have. It will explain how to lock the lifters in place so they don't fall.

correct, you can do a cam swap without pulling the heads. the stock lifter trays are capable of holding the lifters up and out of the way, but i don't trust them much. someone sells a sort of rod that slides in to physically hold all of them up so they can't fall. might just google it because i can't remember who makes it. definitely be very careful if you do opt to just trust the lifter trays, because it's not going to be fun if one happens to slip loose.
