It will probably more toward the $10k price range....I figured that would get me a pretty nice setup to start with as far as a short block, i really wish money was no issue , id have a built ZO6 parked in the garage

You can build a nice 520-540 RWHP engine for $10,000, less actually.

416ci, ported L92 heads, ported L76 intake, cam in the mid 230's, 11.3:1 cr, all forged. You'll make about 530 RWHP. Thats a damn nice street car set-up that will idle close to stock.

I know a guy with one in his C6 Vette. Its badass and if it weren't for the sound of the exhuats you woudl think its stock sitting next to it in traffic

I have an LSX block in a crate waiting to get built. Its not the block that makes power....its the bore, stroke, compression, heads and intake. Blocks offer nothing for power production.

He has a budget, $10,000 will not build a properly matched 454ci. At least it will not be enough to build a 454ci with the proper top end package (heads/intake) to make use of that many cubic inches.

I was talking to the other guy..."LSwhat".

I was telling you to do a 416ci. 530 RWHP is what they'r making. Under $10,000 for sure.

Sometimes you have to build in stages. Nothing wrong with using what you have until you can put a better top end on.

We have a customer who cant finish his project now and will be looking to help him sell his LSX 454 short. Might be a good opportunity to get a 454 already in production.

Definitely, I'm all for people doing that too. Get the 454ci now if you can, even if the top end is choking it. Later, swap the top, get a tune, cam and exhaust and you're in the big leagues.

What stroke and bore is that customers 454 short block?

Is there absolutely zero issue with the piston at BDC with that stroke? 100% piston support, zero piston rock.

Whats the asking price? Thats a perfect short block right there, parts-wise.

well yea i knew that... i was just saying get the block and go from there but now since you have it. get the AFR 225cc heads or the World Products 230cc heads from jegs there called World Products Warhawk for the LS1X there 15 degree heads 2.080" intake 1.600" exhaust valves. There about a grand each well a little over. or even the DART pro I heads. 225cc. DART stands by there product.

after that idk...maybe 11.1:1 compression or higher. depending how much your looking to push. the intake get the FAST LSX intake with the 78 or 92 throttle body. im not the best at this stuff but im ok at it. i think this motor setup would be pretty beastly if your ask me. but who am I to say???

You looking to stay N/A and never spray it? You could get that 454ci short block "99blancoSS" is talking about, put some ported L92 heads ($1,500) and an L76 intake (about $400 I think) and a 90mm TB and a cam in the 240's. That would be a badass engine, definitely make near 550 RWHP. Well under $10,000. Upgrade later when you have more money. That block will be the last block you ever buy. Probably same with the crank, rods and pistons.

if i bought that LSX block id boost it all day F1 procharger or like a 94mm turbo on it. but i aint got any money. i was saying for whoever wants to build an LSX block with the bore and stroke of a 454ci that setup would be insane. arent the LSX blocks like 6 bolt mains too? all i know is when i build my next motor itll have like 900rwhp or so prolly just gonna be a 408 stroker with the F-1 procharger on it. if you look up on youtube inspector12's camaro mine will be basically like that i like that thing is a beast id most deff like to get that camaro put slicks on the back a full roll cage and strap yourself in for one helluva ride. prolly looking in the sky for 1st and 2nd lol. CRAZY

To any question about cubes the answer is always 454 imo.
Anything else = failure.

I failed
