Smile Shaving Stock LS6 Heads -Power Gain?

I'm about to pull the engine apart in my '01 Zo6 to polish every nut and bolt identical to the engine in my sig.

Since I'm a new father as of this weekend, the budget to buy ported heads isn't in the cards, however I'm adding a medium cam, polished stainless headers, and a polished/clearcoated powerbond pulley. I'm putting another polished Lingenfelter intake on to help make everything look like a chrome overload.

I was thinking about having the heads shaved maybe 20 thousands and having a valve job done.... since the heads would be off anyway. I know I'll need shorter pushrods.

Does anyone have advice on how much to mill, etc?

Thanks

Crap... I meant to post this in the Gen III section.

Still, similar principles apply, any advice?

milling will depend on the cam you plan on using and even then you may have to measure.

I'd be more concerned with the valvejob.
