LY6 Looking for advice
I have an LY6 with the vvt and no DOD. I am looking to keep this on a tight budget so here are the questions: should i stay with the vvt? Mast has some good numbers with it. What will I see without it on a cam only swap?
Looking for drivablity and longevity here!!
Staying with the truck intake and the stock computer.

i just put a LY6 in my 94 firebird formula. I'm hoping for 400+rwhp with bolt-ons and a tune. I think that's achievable since LS2's make the 400rwhp ballpark with bolt-ons etc.
I'll hopefully have some impressions by this weekend..
thanks to my brother, mr220v, for the professional wiring job done. I wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

You can't use the truck intake or fuelrail. They don't clear the cowl.
You will also want to replace the pan as the truck pan ends up about 7 inches off the ground and is very exposed to damage.
You can pull this swap off cheap...but not super cheap.

so I drove my LY6 firebird around a bit today....
no dyno numbers and on a factory tune, but i can tell you that the thing felt, at 3000-4000 rpm, like my F13 cammed 2001 Camaro SS did at 5000-5500 rpm or very very close to it (peak 422rwhp/412rwtq @ 6400rpm)... but i never went WOT because my right rear wheel is missing two wheel studs
im incredibly impressed so far.
