A lot of people get hung up on "what the pressure should be" because the "stock LS1" made xx lbs at xxxx rpm.

Talk to your engine builder and see how he spec'd the bearing clearances. If they are the same as the stock LS1 you'll likely see the same pressure, if they are looser the pressure will be lower.

Someone stated above the factory minimum spec is 8 lbs per 1k rpm. I've seen a Ford spec that was minimum 6 lbs per 1k rpm.

My old camaro idled at 20 lbs hot and it ran for years, but the pressure read lower after changing the oil sending unit so it may have been a problem with that. Never checked it out and never had an issue.

Again, call the engine builder, he may say "duh it should have 20-50 cause I built it that way" or something to that tune. But I would start there before ever comparing this motor to that motor etc. How the builder built it will be the best indicator as to what to expect and what you should be running.
