Default Oil sending unit? Pump? Motor going out?

Ok well I just picked up a 98 SGM T/A it has 111k and the only running problem or thing that concerns me and almost stopped me from buying is the oil PSI.

The gauge will be at about 40 or between the 40 mark and the one below it at idle, it quivers almost always. And under WOT it will jump up then back down, quiver and when it stabilizes it isnt that hight between 40 and the mark above it.

Is it the sending unit? Or is this normal?

The oil on my old 00 T/A was 40+ always. The motor on my new car has virtually no noise and it runs really great so I dont think its an engine problem not unless its the pump. BTW the car is 100% stock and the oil hasnt been changed in over a year, im going to change tomorow.

Nobody?

Changed the oil today, oil PSI is definitley better but still jumpy and drops below 40 after awhile. Also there was 1 or 2 very small metal chips on my plug.

Replace sending unit. Especially with the quivering you describe. If that doesn't fix it maybe the cluster... Post back after trying that....

Ugh....ill have to change the intake, to do that ive changed one before on my last T/A when I put on the FAST. I felt back there today but couldn't feel it.

Also the speedo is 10MPH and it still have the stock 2.73s so possibly cluster.
