Another 402 build...
My goals are to make 550 rwhp on motor and over 7 on the gas.
I will use my ls2 block
-Compstar 4" Crank
-compstar connecting rods
-Wiseco Pistons(not sure which ones)
+all ARP Bolts, and all the bearings needed.
Will I Be able to continue to use the cam in my sig? or would i be better off going with somthing a little bigger.
Will this setup be able to hold up to a 200 shot no problem?(will probably be a 150 or 175) shot will most likely be ran off of a plate until i have the funds for a proper direct port
I also plan on buying a set of AFR 225cc heads with the 72 chamber, is this the best way to go with the 402?
Fuel system and drivetrain will be taken care of, just wanted to see how the motor will hold up and if my goals seemed pretty achievable
Callies crank and rods and Wiseco pistons with custom pins and Hell Fire ring, ARP mainstuds will be the bottom end. AFR 225's are a great choice, TFS 235's would be good too as well as a few other top ends. Stock rockers are fine with the HS rebuild or we would use Yella Terra Ultra lites. Manton custom pushrod, Morel lifters, N-Motion double roller, Melling HV OP is our usual build up. We can upgrade or down grade it's your call.
The most important thing to an engine build is not the parts but who builds it. You can use a $5000 rotating assembly and it will break apart just as easy as a $1800 assembly if it's put together wrong, the tune is off or the compression is to high....
