Default 433ci out of a LS3

I picked up a LS3 block pretty cheap and I am trying to decided what to do with it. Any suggestions? I already have a whole procharger kit setting at home, minus the F1A that is going to complete it.

414-418
or 433?

Is there any problems with making a 433 out of it?

I just had a 427 built from an L92 block. Due to the length of the cylinder I cannot add ANY power adders. I would assume the same goes for the LS3 block.

Hmmm that's really interesting... Does anyone else have any more information about this?

strength might be an issue at 433ci an FI.

Wouldn't a 418ci be better for that level of boost than a big 433ci?

Short stroke and smaller bore for strength.

Yeah maybe so. I was just trying to get a bigger CI, that way I can run lower boost and have it last a lot longer lol.

Yeah, me and my stepfather are building a big ole signle turbo set-up. I kept wanting to do a 427 or a 434 but everyone that knows their stuff kept telling me to build a smaller cube engine. Not only because it simply works better with boost, the stroke being shorter and bore being smaller is better for strength and reliability......and longevity.

There's shops with 1600 fwhp streetable daily driver set-ups using 402ci LSX engines. Their bigger 427 and 454 LSX blocked engines just use MUCH bigger turbos...but then you're talking upwards of 2,300 fwhp daily driver engines.

All you need is that 400-418ci LS3 engine and you'll get more out of that sc'er. It'll be very reliable for 1,000 RWHP, just have it tuned properly.

Wouldnt get much if any more HP than a 408 though. Cost me more LOL. But in the end I think the 408 under 16+PSI would hold up better

Well you asked about an LS3 so I was answering that question.

Bigger engines will make more power but 8 cubes isnt a big difference. The 408 will definately be less money to build and iron is more durable than aluminum so yes to both, no arugument there at all.

Well I found a LS3 block for cheap but when I looked at it, it would have to be decked slightly and bore it to 4.080 to be any good. So since I would of had to deck it I decided to pass on it.

Is there a problem with Decking a LS3 block slightly to clean it up?
