New L96 RPO...
My reason for asking for the RPO code for my 6L90E was after I pulled the heat shield from the passenger side of the trany, I was expecting to see something starting with an "MY..." on the sticker but instead my started with "O" so I was a little concerned..
Any suggestions on the specks for a "small VVT cam"? I'm not trying to push the limits on this motor as I'm just starting out with the whole LS Swap thing.. And I really think that the VVT is the way GM is going with the motors.. I do have a LS3 Intake Manifold coming to me via "snail mail" I'm hopping to get it in this week. So that will up the HP a little..
By the way... I'm not 100% sure, but I think the intake manifold currently on my L96 has the same "MAP" sensor as required for a LS3 intake.. Once mine arrives in the mail, I will see how she fits.. Just passing this info on, as I have read alot of threads that other guys have done "Creative Engineering" to make an LS2 MAP sensor work on the LS3 intakes..

I'm also trying to find a MAF Sensor.. The salvage yard I got the motor from can't seem to find the one that came with the motor.. with the motor being a 2010 L96 I'm not sure what will swap over..

Again.. they were on the passenger side, rear... There was nothing on the drivers side at all.. is this something new for GM? it is a new motor.

My thoughts were to get her in and sitting right in her new home.. Lay out the route for the air intake, radiator lines (oh yeah I scored a Be-Cool aluminum radiator with the EOC and TOC connections this past week), and the rest of the basic stuff then start pushing things a little..
I guess my big thing is tuning/ECM issues with adding anything new to the current combo.. I am going to have a learning curve for sure as I have not had to do any of that at all.. my other LS1 motor was a snap, I just hooked it all up, put a pump in a tank with gas and fired it up and she ran.. but then again that was all I did.. then I had to pack it all away and redeploy back to Iraq...
I really don't know anyone in my area that does anything with the new motors.. So I'm going solo on this..
That said...
So all I need is a MAF that will connect to the existing wiring? Any suggestions? The guy at Schram said he didn't see any "interchange" info on the MAF.. What about the ECM and a MAF that didn't come with the original motor combo? I know way too many questions!!

Sorry i cant provide more as far as stock parts you could swap, but iirc the larger stock mafs are like 85mm (from most gen4 engine cars/trucks) and the tb will only get as large as 90mm, but there are many of them out there (cable or dbw driven)
I do want to get into the tuning.. and once I get the must have stuff (motor and trany mounts, LS radiator, new drive shaft, dash wiring to keep an eye on how the engine is doing) out of the way.. I was then going to get the HP Tuners or LS Edit.. But I tried to get some feed back on both of those on another thread but no real info.. I know I will need a tuner program to unlock the TU-TD in the trany and I still need to modify the ZO6 Corvette shifter i picked up to do the TU-TD.. I don't want flippers on my dang steering wheel...
If you get a chance check with your friend and see what he says about a MAF for my project..
Thanks
Kevin

The only bummer is that the guy I got the intake from only sent me 8 of the 10 bolts.. I sent him an email in hopes of him sending me the other 2 bolts.. I can't complain really.. I got the new intake for $250 with injectors and fuel rails and a couple of lines. And NO the ones from my intake will not work, they are too short..

I still have to find a accessory bracket for the alt, it is in the way of the new intake sitting down all the way..
I ordered my motor mounts and trans mount kit today from BRP Hot Rods.. http://www.brphotrods.com
I'll let ya know how that goes..
Still nothing from Schram on the MAF sensor...

I need some assistance with all the connections on the LS3 intake.. Someone have a layout for all of that... I got the fuel connection.. what are the other ports for.. there is one on the back and two on the front. One below the MAP sensor location and one opposite that on the other side.

Are you sure its a 9 digit number and not an 8 digit like usual?

or does it have a lifter oil control manifold like this
In that first picture I see numbers stamped on the left on the block, just infront of the head.. are those the same as what should be in the rear on the drivers side?

The number you gave is the type of number I'd expect to see, the sequence just has one too many digits.
No what you are seeing there is the unique engine number.

Hose A-B
Fresh Air Supply Line.
From Air Intake Pipe to Front Right Valve Cover.
(Supplies fresh filtered air to the PCV system)

Hose C-D
Foul Air Line.
From Rear Left Valve Cover to Front Right Intake Manifold.
(Supplies foul oily air from the PCV orifice in the valve cover to the intake manifold for consumption by the engine)

Hose E-F
Gas Vapour Supply Line.
From Vapour Canister on Fuel Tank to EVAP emission solenoid valve.
(Supplies gas vapour to the EVAP system)

EVAP System.
