Default Fair price for a used LS2

Greetings gents (and ladies).

I am about to begin a semi-major project of installing an LS2 into a 1969 firebird. I have a buddy that is selling an LS2 engine out of a newer vette and I'm thinking about purchasing it from him. The things that are included in the sale are:

LS2 long block
Intake
MAF Sensor
Starter
Coils / Wires / Plugs
Alternator
Pulleys / Tensioners
Balancer
(i.e. most of the engine)

Things that are not included are:
A/C Compressor
P/S Pump
ECU
Wiring harness
Exhaust manifolds

The engine has 30k on the clock, has been road raced three times and supposedly has had Mobil 1 in it during its life. I have plans to mate it up to a 4 or 5-speed Auto.
What is a good offer for the engine only? I've seen entire engine/tranny combos with everything included, including the drive-by-wire go for around 6.5K. Thanks in advance for your help.

Default ls2

You can get a complete GM LSX454 from Jegs for $ 9,299 with LSX 6 bolt heads! And there's sponsers selling long blocks for pretty good prices also.

So a used ls2, I'd say 1200 > 1800 Tops 2K .

Check out the classifieds n see what ya find there.
Also check Craigslist, Ebay etc.

I will be selling our LS2 longblock out of our 05 C6 Corvette. This car has only
13,000 miles on it. It will be available in appx. 2 weeks.

6.5K is way too much. Check ebay for comparisons.I would say 3-3.5Ktops. You can get new ones for 4500.oo BUT. thatsJUST the engine.

Thanks everyone. So does everyone agree around $1500-2k for the items listed as described as being a fair price?

Hunter, if you want, let me know how much you want to sell your engine for and what exactly would be included. I'd have to factor in shipping to Houston.

Also, if anyone has any advice on a 4 or 5-speed auto transmission that can handle the power, feel free to post up some information. It has a 3.73 rear end so I want a nice .5:1 or .6:1 cruising gear. I'll try to post a photo of the beast tonight to make it worth your while

edit: wait, it looks like you guys are saying anywhere from 1200 to 3500. Quite the range there...
