Default Using copper spray on GM MLS head gaskets

I have done a search and I am wondering if It is OK to use copper spray on the GM MLS head gaskets. I have read that some engine builders use the spray on cometic gaskets. Are the GM gaskets similar to cometic as far as the black sealant goes around the water seal areas? I had a head gasket leak and we are checking everything including the TFS heads. A picture of the cometic gasket would be a great help. Thanks for any help

I have done it with GM MLS gaskets. Works fine, they really glue themselves to the block with the spray. Several thin light coat until they are uniform coated.

Is it a specific copper spray made for helping seal head gaskets?

Didn't see the need for it on the GM gasket because of the rubber stripping that seals the coolant passages. The Cometics have a 0.001" thick coating with not rubber ribs as on the GM. When I installed Cometics I used Hylomar spray.

hotswap, yes it is a sealant adhesive that is copper impregnated and comes in a spray can. I bought some today, but I have never used it before. With these mls gaskets everything has to be within .002" overall I read. Do you wait for the spray to dry or go tacky or put it all together wet? Thanks for the help Russell
