Ok, sounds good. We can talk and discuss details. Maybe this can hold me over for a little while with the urge for more power.

You can get these in either LSX or Warhawk 6 bolt style, correct?

You're correct...

Anyone have any real world results?

All Ive seen so far is an LS1 GTO with a set of the 215s and it made 490ish. Torque was high and broad as well. Very impressive.

I've decided to get a set of the 215cc, small bore heads and a custom VS cam. We'll see what it can do for my setup. I'm hoping for as much low to mid range torque as possible from my stock cube setup.

I will. I plan to dyno the car prior to removing my current setup which consists of a set of handported 853 heads, TR224 cam on a 112, qtps, ory and a ported FAST 90/90. Last time I had a dyno done was back in 2002/3 when the heads/cam went on/in and I had an ls6 intake and macs at the time. Back then I made 430/400, so I'm curious where I'm at now.
I'll swap over to the PI heads and Va Speed cam, re-tune, and then redyno. Don't hold your breath because with two kids under 4 y/o, my time is limited to work on the car.

How much of an improvement has Cary made over the ETLS7?

Here's my fuzzy logic math.... purely speculation of course....

If I was at 430/400 before with macs, ls6 intake, crushed ypipe, and a mail order ls1edit tune, now with a cleaned up fast 90/90, qtp's, bigger injectors, light flywheel and good tune I should conservatively be 440/410.

I'm guessing that the new combo is going to put me around 475/430, which should keep me happy for a few years till the kids are out of daycare, and I'll have the time and capital to do a 400+ cube motor and have these PI heads opened up to accomodate the bigger bore.

I talked with Ed at length, and I'm not looking to squeeze every last horsepower out of this setup but rather get as much torque from 2000-4000 as I can, so we'll see how this shapes up.

I like your thinking. There's nothing more fun than driving around in a car that will roast the tires just off idle. An interesting excersize is to keep track mentally of the RPM range you run in driving the car on the street. How often do you even go over 4k RPM? I spend most of my time shifting under 3k. Of course it doesn't go out without a few hard blasts near 6800. In my commute in DC rush hour I put my car in 6th and I'm good from 30 to 85MPH.

It's easy to foget what you have on tap with an engine with a nice broad torque curve - until you play...

This is what i ALWAYS asked when it came to the AFR 205's. When i asked about them i seem to get the same answer, which was" i haven't tried them at the track yet". I knew that was BS cause people would say they went to the track regulary but after they installed a set of $2,300 heads they wanted everyone to believe they haven't been back to see what track times they got??LOL. And that wasn't from one person. I was very interested in the AFR's but wanted to know how much they lowered a cars ET on average since every setup is different.

These heads work. My Dallas Performance 427ci F1R is making 1,002rwhp / 928rwtq with 16* of timing on pump gas with the ET version of these heads. Dallas Performance recently completed an almost identical build 434ci with a slighly smaller cam with the new PI heads that made 1,040rwhp on pump gas and over 1,100 with a 50 shot. I have not heard of any other pump gas SC'd LSx engines making more than 1,000rwhp.

I was wondering how that worked out for them. I never heard. Glad to hear the results were positive.

I've also got a set of 215's coming for a stock SB LS1, with Ported FAST 102, custom VS cam in an M6 with 10bolt. There won't be much tracking this car d/t 10bolt, but I'm hoping to have a decent hwy cruiser/weekend warrior. Hopefully, using these heads will allow me to make good power with a mid sized cam that will still knock down 25mpg hwy thru the 10bolt. I will be running a cheaper exhaust setup initially (pacesetter 1 3/4" LT's, no cats, x pipe, and 3" TD thru proflow twisters and exiting via factory CME), on which I will dyno, then I will upgrade to some 1 7/8" ARH's utilizing a similar Y pipe, cutout plan that Patrick G did to make 500rwhp. We will likely run an SD tune, and a ported 90mmTB is planned.

I love the flexibility of these heads, 215's for now, and upgradeable (room to grow) with a bigger motor later on...kinda like buying 1 set of heads for the life of your car.

I've learned that most times the saying "you get what you pay for" is true, I "expect" this situation to be no different.
