Really torn between N/A (+n2o) and blower
I recently threw a 404 ls2 in my car. I have torquer v3, stock ls1 heads,ls6 intake, t-56, building an 8.8 rearend for it. Full suspension and odds and ends.
I already have a 150 wet kit for the car and its installed with full accessories.
Basically I want to finish up my car and that would require either going h/c/i or throwing a supercharger on it. I plan on finishing up this rearend this summer and getting a driveshaft for it so i can start to launch hard.
Goals were originally to just run an 11.9 (best was 12.1@127 on old engine with 100 shot and street tires), i should be able to run well past it with this setup no problem. I just want a sick street car that is a blast and can kick some ***.
H/c/i + nitrous should be able to make close to 700 rwhp, but i need to worry about nitrous fills, and all the bs that goes along with it. Low maintainance otherwise and i think it would be a lot of fun. probably would cost 2-3 grand to do it how i want to.
Superchargers are obviously amazing because they make the power all the time but they are also expensive. Obviously its gonna cost me 6-7 grand to do this kind of stuff.
I am kind of talked out of a turbo charger due to the fact i feel they are a little less reliable, bleed off when you shift gears on the t56.

You guys arent seeing my point!
Why buy a set of crazy n/a heads that maximize compression and power and then have to switch to something completely different for a boosted application.
I realize this top end is far from optimal but i didnt have money at the time. I will have money eventually so i want to plan accordingly.

Id say go with the h/c/i over the supercharger. I added a supercharger to my vette and while the car is faster when i really lay into it, it is a lot lazier down low in part throttle situations. I can really feel the lost power from spinning the blower down low. When the car was na (450rwhp) it used to jump at the slightest touch of the throttle and felt a lot more crisp. Being you have a 404 you could make an easy 550rwhp and have a really strong fun car that would be hard to beat and when you hit the n20 all hell would break loose.
