PRC 237 heads and stock LS1 rocker pedestals?
Anybody running the stock pedestals and PRC aftermarket casting heads? I was mocking things up tonight and noticed that the stock rocker pedestals have tabs cast into the top and bottom that fit over the pedestal bosses in the factory casting heads. The PRC just has a flat surface over the rocker and push rod hole area. I guess the answer is to grind off the tabs on the pedestal stands, but I though I would see if there was another answer.

Correct, just grind those tabs off and you're set! I believe on the next run of these heads, there will be provisions so that the pedestals will not have to be ground and will sit correctly as is. But no worries for now just grinding them off

Matt,
Thanks for the reply. One more question for you. Have you had any reports of the header bolt holes not being deep enough for stock bolts? It seems that they not be tapped all the way to the bottom of the hole. A piece of welding rod stuck in the holes shows ~.82 deep, but stock header bolt will only go in ~.72.

We have never seen that problem here nor any reports of it from any of the buyer's. Any more info you can give me on it and what you find will be appreciated so we can look into it farther!

It looks like it has to do with my 10 year old Grottyohann headers. The header flange is only 5/16" thick. I'm not sure if later headers have a3/8" or not.
The bolt length is 30 mm.
Hole depth looks to be ~20 mm deep
Header flange measures at ~8 mm with a dial caliper
Stock MLS gasket looks to be ~.8 mm compressed (as best I can measure)
This leaves me with about 1mm over. These bolts are also the original that came on my stock motor and may have stretched some over the years. I have a few choices available. grind the stock bolts down 1 mm. Add some stainless washers, or go with the ARP studs.
Matt, I sent you a PM with a couple of questions the springs on these heads
