Default Tsp 427

So this may be a very uneducated question, and if so I apologize in advance. I was looking at tsp engines today and see that a 427 is available as an ls3 or an ls7 with a difference of a couple grand. My question is why would I pay the difference for the ls7?

The LS3 427 utilizes a 4.10" stroke crank and a smaller bore as compared to the LS7 427 using a 4.0" stroke and larger bore. The biggest difference in cost is due to the ever-rising cost of the LS7 bare block from GM. They're proud of that thing!

It depends a lot on head/cam setup. Our run of the mill LS3 427 using LS3 heads and a decent size cam will typically do anywhere between 515-550rwhp, while our LS7 427s using LS7 heads and a decent cam will typically make anywhere between 545-600rwhp. These numbers would be made with a 6 speed car. Autos will obviously dyno lower because of more drivetrain loss.
