LS3/L92 cylinder heads
Hey this is Brett at LandSpeed Development, I am currently out of L92 castings and all of my suppliers and sources don't seem to have any does anyone know were I can buy new or used castings for a good price? I would prefer bare castings but I will take what I can get. Thanks

We do have quite a few of them on hand and ready to go. And yes, it is strange that the LS3 heads are so inexpensive, but there is also an old saying that goes along with that. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Lol.
We have them in bare, assembled, bare cnc and assembled cnc in many different varieties.
We will try to honor those prices for as long as we can until GM goes up on them, but honestly that could be tomorrow.

I'm still shocked at GM's current pricing. I priced LS3 heads for the hell of it, and found that they were over $100 cheaper than L92s!! I bought 2 on the spot at my dealer's parts counter.

$68.64 shipping per head kinda offsets that price in the first place. They are now $380.64 per head.
Our shipping per head generally runs about $20 or so and about $36 for 2 heads. (those are not concrete prices for shipping just what I saw on a few invoices when I tried to find average shipping cost on them). So using that math, even though ours is more "expensive" for the head, in the end, it is less.
Just another way to look at it.

If you guys decide to buy these heads through mail order instead of through your local GM dealer, ask whoever you buy them from to open the boxes and visually inspect the heads first. My set was full of gouges around the perimeter of the head gasket surface, presumably due to rough handling BEFORE they were boxed up. One was puckered badly enough that I had to send it back and get another one. Of course, the replacement I got, while perfect, for some reason shows discoloration on the head gasket surface as if it had a head gasket stuck to it already.
Likewise, these heads are poorly boxed with minimal packing material to keep them safe. They are not well protected. For this reason, if you choose mail order, I'd strongly suggest that you ask the seller to at least open them and do a visual inspection before they go out the door. It could save you some major hassles.

We have been known to rebox heads that come in here messed up from GM. Our shipping dept does try to visually inspect every head that goes in and out along with every LS7 clutch kit (for the same reason) but honestly there are so many it is hard to do. We do try to keep up though. If the box does not look like it will survive shipping, we will def take care of it.
You can also ask to have them reboxed for no charge.

Well, we get calls about it SO often and our price match guarantee that we have to make sure they know that GMPD will be lower on some parts, but when you look at the entire picture, it sure as heck is NOT cheaper by any means.
Before i worked for Scoggin I was going to order a single panel retainer black push pin. The pin was $6.54 and the shipping was $26. I found that a little alarming. I still do.
We can only compare apples to apples when you are still shipping the same apple for the same price.
