lsx 451 anyone??
lsx 451 has anyone build one yet?!?!?! for the street. i was thinking of building one with a solid roller or a high revving hydraulic cam! any opinions or any good info would be great!! thanks aj

GM High Tech Performance Magazine has been building a LSX 451 for the past few months, in a future issue they will be putting it on the dyno and seeing the fruits of their labor.

why chose a 450/1 over a reg 454? you guys planning on some big shots or something?
just trying to understand other options

i keep hearing people having problems with the 454 burning oil because how far the rod is up in the piston or how high the rings are!?!?!?!?! i think or maybe if she blows have room to bore!

It's just about what bore and stroke, more stroke helps with getting more torque and more bore helps get more horsepower, then there are limitations to stroke and/or bore depending on the block you use. One block may let you use more stroke while another may allow for more bore. For me in the rhs block I cant go more than 4.165 bore, I'm going 4.155 to not max out the block, I also want just a little more bore than stroke, hence the slightly smaller stroke. I have also noticed that most people with force induction usually run a much smaller crank than bore, not quite sure as to why, I am guessing it may help to spin the motor faster, but I am not sure on that.
