What cylinder heads? Valvetrain? Oiling system?
My last trip to the drags was high 10s in 90F, so I can't complain.
When I'm on the throttle, it plants you good and runs smooth. When you are in traffic putting around, you can hit the A/C and go in cognito.
My regret is that I did not run a solid cam. I will fix that soon. I really like the Diamond pistons and LSL comp cam though. No oil burn and a nice hard hit from the cam across the board.
I would post up my rwhp, but I feel like MPH = HP. I'm not much of a believe in dynos, except for relative tuning.
Rockers are a custom DRE (Dearmore Racing) shaft system. I cant remember the pressures on the springs but they are 1.55" springs if memory serves. Valves are custom length Manley i THINK.
Moroso oilpan and pump.
I enjoy the power the engine makes, but I would like more (doesn't everyone?). When I am not cruising above 130mph on the autobahn, I can get 250 - 265 miles on a tank, and that is at 90 - 110mph. My shortblock is all forged, so I do have the option of nitrous or forced induction. The only thing I 'should' need to update is my stock fuel lines and injectors, and maybe my clutch. I have (I think) 72 or 76 lb injectors, and with a power adder I'd need to go bigger. I also have -15cc pistons, so a low compression is possible with a nonmilled head if I go with FI.

If I were to build another engine, I'd go with a forged LS7 stock cubes, larger than stock heads (AFR ported by Tony), FAST 102 (ported by Tony), light weight valvetrain, stock rockers (I have broken a dozen YT 1.7 roller rockers), and a custom cam from Pat G. The key here would be to get your engine type and size info to Tony, tell him what your goals are, and have him draw up the 'best' head for your application. He'll give you quench distance, compression ratio, DCR, SCR, flow rates and so on. Then talk to Pat G, let him know you're working with Tony, tell him your goals and what Tony is doing for you, and tell him what you have and want. Pat will grind up a cam for you and you'll love life when it's all done.
Well, at least that's what I'd do.

Thats a small head on a 418.
The ported 205, I am told, flows like a 215 head. When I was planning this set up, I was trying to save money, so I used the 205s I had on my LS1 and I got them ported by Tony. Monday morning quarterbacking this set up, yeah, whatever. My SS hauls *** on the autobahn and I have had some Porsches fall back from me.
Sorry if I hijacked this thread. Not intentional, just hoping others learn from my past, which reminds me: Don't date a stripper. If she brings a girl home, you may just find yourself in the kitchen fixing a sandwich with the girls in the bedroom.
edit: I also believe that if I had more power I'd do one of the following:
a. Go back in time
b. Lift off
c. Use it all and hurt myself and someone else in the process, resulting in wrecking my SS.

I wanted over 500 rwhp & rwtq, but yeah, heads and cam are limiting factors. If I do change my set up, I am thinking AFR 245 head and custom cam by Pat G. But that all takes money, and right now I am planning on a custom paint job, and here in Germany, 2500 Euros is just over $3000. This will require saving money and not spending it all on weekend trips to other countries.
