LSX-LS7 Buildup - we're getting close
A while back I posted some pics of the heads and block from my build:
WCCH LSX-LS7 heads - lotsa pics
I stopped by the engine builder today and we're getting real close. Everything's buttoned up except the valvetrain - we're waiting on custom Trend pushrods, which should be here next week. Here are the latest pics (excuse the colors, the lighting was weird in there):
This came in too:
This is all for a street C6Z with a ProCharger F1-A. Displacement is 427, compression came out to 9.82:1. We're targeting 10 psi and low 700s for normal use, and 16-17 psi and low-mid 900s when pullied down.
Parts in the engine include:
GMPP LSX block, bored to 4.125
Callies Dragonslayer 4" crank
Oliver Speedway rods
Diamond custom pistons
Tool steel pins
Total Seal rings w/steel top ring
Calico piston skirt and bearing coating
GMPP LSX-LS7 heads
Del West 2.2" Ti intakes
REV 1.6" SS exhausts
PRC EHT .675 spring set
Head porting and setup by West Coast Cylinder Heads
ARP (6-bolt) head & main studs
GMPP LSX head gaskets
Comp Cams custom grind, 232/256, .630/.630, 114 LSA, 110 ICL, inspired by Ragin Racin
Morel link-bar hydraulic lifters, .750" roller
Trend pushrods, 3/8", .080" wall
CHE-bushed LS7 rockers
Cloyes Extreme HexAdjust timing set
Stock 2009 LS7 oiling system
ATI 7.5" SuperDamper, 8-rib
LS7 intake and throttle body, ported by Pete Incaudo
Katech valve covers and coil mounts
Siemens 80# injectors
Dallas Performance fuel system
American Racing 1 7/8" headers
All the machining and assembly, except for what's noted, is by Fast Forward Race Engines of Zephyrhills, Florida.
I think about 2 more weeks on the engine and blower drive, and then a couple more weeks on the car. It's been down since late December, so yeah, I'm getting anxious.
