but I agree. I made 577/530 with L92 heads and a little tiny cam. Mine's just a little grocery getter.

Weren't you around the same numbers as mine on your pull with the exhaust and intake on the car? Mine made 550 torque.

BTW, I drove the car 600 miles round trip from TX to LA last weekend. Drove great. Only issue I had was the car taking a couple times to start when hot sometimes. But that's the tune/100mm maf. Sure was fun.

Those numbers are as it's driven.

I took an 800 miles round trip to Ohio last weekend. Top down/tunes up. Great ride and the car ran perfectly. Temp never went above 205 and oil pressue stayed at 43psi at idle and about 50psi cruising.

1/2 race cam is probably closer to what a Gentleman's Cruiser needed.

How do your resist blowing other guys off the road at least once in 800 miles? Well, be careful in OHIO. MCPM (more cops per mile) than in any other state I've visited...and I'm from NY.

And who said I didn't. The was one built Chevy II that got froggy on me. Luckily my daughter and not the wife was in the car. I think he was grabbing 3rd when I went by about 40MPH faster than he was going... My daughter thought is was very cool..my wife, not so much.

800 miles sounds like about 2 tanks full of BP...or less. That would be 21 mpg if you ran 'em dry.

My 97 C5 has a 19.1 gal capacity. (at least per pg 6-70 in the owner's manual) I've put over 18.5 in it. It was reading LOW FUEL for a long time before I limped into a station on fumes and a prayer that time.

16.5 surprises me. I know, you can run it dry and see what it takes to fill it. Curious minds want to know.

There was a change on 2003-2004 fuel tanks to comply with some evap emissions, and I think the fuel filter went internal somewhere during the C5's lifespan. Mine is external to the tank and a cinch to change, especially when the A4 is out being replaced @ 130K.

Mamofied AFR 235's a 242/254 .617/.623 114+2 and a Victor Jr. with a 1300cfm 4 barrel TB. You'd need a cowl hood though since this is going into a f-body. Or you could run a edelbrock low profile elbow and nick williams 90mm TB

There are definitely some great choices in this thread. I would be interested in seeing what a set of AFR 245's with a FAST 102/102 would do on that motor though.
