Default Oil pressure gauge, spiking

My oil pressure gauge keeps spiking to both max and zero. I think it seems to be an electrical problem because the car still runs fine and it seems like a gauge would behave with a bad connection.

Should I be worried and not drive the car? I am at a place with no tools so its hard to get it fixed at the moment.

your oil pressure sending unit most likely just went bad Jon. I really don't think your oil pressure would spike and jump... either have it or not IMO. Drive it home and replace the sending unit is what I would do.

+1 - 99% of the time it is just the sending unit. Drive it home.
