yes i could the bores still look really good despite the damage to pistons i got lucky in one sense that i was off the gas and not making a full pass went it quit. I definetly am going to make this run better trying to get Tony Mamo to go thru my heads for me and make this Baby Scream she ran good before she can be better.

That Fancy slp oil pump the bypass was stuck open. while it was providing ample oil at low rpms it couldnt handle the high rpms and starved itself,as for the crank the mains looked really good and most of the rods looked really good,i can barely feel a scratch on the number six rod journal that spun i got very lucky that i was almost idling when it locked up,it did ruin one rod though but i will take it with me to the machine shop to see if its savable,i would rather buy one new rod though and hang some new pistons because i want more compression, how about hese pistons?Wiseco K394X05

There was a thread a few years back about these type of problems with certain oil pumps.
I'd go with a stock pump myself as that is more than adequate.
I would talk to the engine builder about what pistons he recommends. If you ever thought or plan to go FI, now is the time to get the right pistons and rings.

you know i took a LS6 oil pump outta it last year and Put that Dammed SLP pump in and immediatly noticed lower oil pressure pulled it back apart took the oil pump apart and the bypass was stuck open freed it back up part of the aluminum casting from the new pump was stuck in it, and reinstalled it i have had nothing but oil pressure problems ever since. I knew i shouldve stuck that stock pump back in.

Both melling and Katech oil pumps seem to work well. Haven't seen any adversed post on either.
My katech pump had around 33 PSI @idle 950 rpms and went up to around 67 PSI under full throttle.
