Default shaving down pistons?

Im looking to reduce the 10cc dome on a set of diamond pistons down to apprx. 5cc, trying to get a solid 12:1 compression ratio, anyone have any experience or thoughts? I plan on calling the manufacturer about this when I get a good phone connection but until then can anyone shed some knowledge?

thanks for the reassurance, I've known about the fly cut but never heard of taking 5cc off the piston before, thanks, that is a relief, now I just have to pay for it and the rebalance for the rotating assymbly.
