Default Damaged LS2 Sleeve

Is it possible and economical to replace a badly damaged sleeve in an LS2 block? Any idea of the cost?

$1500 is sure not economical with my budget.........LOL! Thanks for the replys. Gotta figure out what to do with my LS1. It has high leak down numbers in # 6 & #8. No wonder it did not make the power I was hoping for. Saving my coins as we speak.

Default LS2 repair

I repair LS7 blocks with sleeve damage, block cracks on a regular basis. It is cost effective to repair one hole in a $2,500 block but not in an $1,100 block.

Minimum cost, without having to weld up the block, would be around $500 rough bored and decked. Welding to repair cracks behind the sleeve would raise the price.

If this is a regular street driver, it would be a lot more cost effective to just replace the block.

My preferred method of repair on these LS2 blocks is to sleeve the entire block for larger displacement using either Darton Seal Tight dry liners or MID wet liners depending on the application.

Thanks, Steve. Just what I needed to know. I will be keeping my eye out for a deal on a replacement for my LS1.
