Default LS2 bottom end in a 98 ws6

so looking into this more closely i was planning a h/c/i swap for my car, i have all the parts. but seeing these LS2 shortblocks, they take way more than the LS1. so im thinking of putting my h/c/i on an LS2 bottom end. i have tsp 243's, custom cam, and an LS6 intake (subject to change). but seeing tons of 500rwhp cam only LS2's i should be able to do that, and run a healthy shot of nitrous.

whats involved in the swap, this is bottom end only, i will still have LS6 heads, intake, and my fuel system (42lb injectors also)

is this as simple as bolting everything up? im thinking relutor wheel, and cam sensor are the only things i would need.

also what are these stock bottom LS2's good for (LS1 around 500-550 max) horsepower wise.

also i read above and it talks about LS3 swaps and all, complete swap, im just wanting bottom end LS2 swap here.

did more searching, came up with a cool write up.

seems to be pretty easy swap when just doing the bottom end. and i need to find one with a 24 tooth relutor wheel.

finding a good used LS2 is a pain tho. so i think ill step up to a texas-speed LS2 364. i can get it new, with good pistons and rods. strong performer, and it'll take some abuse and some nitrous.

do the same things apply to the ls3 as ls2? as for the cam sensor and the reluctor wheel?

dont forget knock sensors. Most of the stuff youd have to worry about is on the topend, so keeping the stuff you have helps in that sense, but the heads arent really meant for a bore that big (iirc). Maybe get the shortblock and have the heads/intake ported then get a cam meant for it all? Im sure whatever builder you go with will facilitate that

EDIT: on second thought the head chambers might be fine, i sold my AFR 205s for my 402 build in favor of an ls3 topend, but with a stock bore you might be okay
