Default LS7 heads vs aftermarket

hey guys i was wondering which flowed better & which would be better for an LS3 427 stroker build. heard the LS7 heads were awsome on the ZO6 & wasnt worth replacing & wondered if they would fit on the LS3 427 shortblock like Texas Speed & Scoggin Dickey sell. would a cam made for an LS7 work in that engine also? what about intake would i need an LS7 intake to match up to the LS7 heads ? are AFR & TFS heads better than LS7 heads?

The ls7 heads from gm are pretty good-

The aftermarket ls7 heads offer more strength and also thicker decks and fitment to smaller bore sizes, comes in different port and chamber volumes and 4 and 6 bolt as options-

Intake will need to be a ls7 style one wether its gm or aftermarket ls7 casting head--

factory ls7 heads will not fit an ls3 427 bore.you need atleast a 4.100 bore for those heads to fit.The only ls7 head that will fit is the Mast 4.00 bore ls7 heads with the smaller valves.

It would fit, but I would think spec might be a little different depending on what type of build you are doing.

i want the ls7 punisher or lethal cam from ragin racin its a 660 lift @ 113 lsa i see i see alot of the people with ls3 427 strokers & the arent making the power that an ls7 427 does in the z06. why not? i see cammed with heads intake & exhaust z06s put down 570-585rwhp but the same setup in trans am & camaros on the ls3 427 is only 520-540 why?

LS3 strokers don't have enough bore to support the LS7 heads and LS7 heads are just that much better. They flow much better then an LS3 does, so when you pair that up with a good cam you make better power.

John i am lost

when you mean ls3 strokers are you saying a 427 deal with a 4.1 crank or a 414 4.070 4 inch stoke for argument sake etc etc

i have seen otherwise with a 4 inch stroke

Happy to be educated if i am wrong-

In this instance I am referring to LS3 based 427s which usually come in at a 4.070-4.080" bore 4.100" stroke.

There are many LS3 combos using 4.000" stroke but I don't think thats what we are talking about here.
