Default 2008 5.3 build

I have a 2008 5.3 out of a Silverado. The motor has 14K on it. It came with all front accessories. Complete as it gets. I picked it up for a grand. Now I'm working to get it into a 67 Camaro. List of things I have to do (please correct me if I'm wrong).

1) Change reluctor wheel on the crank.
2) Swap intake/injectors/throttle body to LSx(1-6).
3) Swap to an LSx water pump.
4) Remove the DOD stuff and replace lifter valley pan with a non-DOD pan.

When I got the motor, I didn't realize it had the variable displacement business on it. Now, I'm working to basically turn this into an lsx. Any insight on how this needs to happen. I'm hoping to find some strong advice and much needed insight into this whole thing.

Also working on mating it to a t-56. Any help in that department is welcomed as well.

I am a carb guy so i have no EFI solutions, but the reluctor wheel does not need to be changed if you use the newer GEN IV harness.
