Default Texas Speed LS7 PRC 285 Heads

Just wanted to give a shout to Texas Speed for the PRC 285 LS7 heads I recently received from them. While I did experience some drama surrounding the spring options, there is little doubt these are some of the best flowing/reasonably priced heads for LS applications....the quality and design is first class and I am extremely impressed....so was my engine machinist who is usually very reserved in his compliments....

Name just about any name brand (or GM head) out there. While I haven't had my set on a flow bench, the broadcast flow numbers on intake @ over .700" lift are 415 cfm. I'm running a smallish solid roller but should still see close to 400 cfm.....

Those are leaps and bounds better than the PI/MAST 305 cc LS7 head. You wouldnt even want to know what they flowed.

400 CFM ?
That's HUGE! What displacement engine are they going on?
When you say a "smallish" solid roller, how small do you actually mean?
I have never heard of a "smallish solid roller"...

They are going on a Bill Mitchell Warhawk 454....11:1 forged,Callies crank/rods,ARE dry sump, port injection nitrous on a Perf Ind sheet metal intake, Wilson 105,Jesel shaft rockers, Crane 256/260 714"/714" on a 113CL. I have a G-Force 101 four speed...still need clutch and QT bellhousing. Everything going in a tubbed 69 Camaro....getting really close!

We used these on a stock cube LS7 build I did for a local gentleman last year. With a hydraulic LS7R-ish cam and a GM LS7 intake, it made 571 to the wheels through the full exhaust. Very nice street car.

I was reading about your present Warhawk build.....I like the Jesel valvetrain components but....why not a solid cam? With all of the high end parts in your build up, I would assume you are going to run a shaft rocker setup? Don't want the hassle of periodic valve adjustment?

A Bill Mitchell 454....4.125" bore, 4.250" crank, 6.560" rods...all good parts. I used to have a BDS blown 540 BBC which made about 1000 HP. Hope my new engine puts out around 750 HP naturally aspirated...I am plumbing my intake for a direct port nitrous setup as well

Can you elaborate? Been searching for a good review or feedback on both. I take it you have experience with both.

cheers

The LXR-PS7 Performance Induction LS7 305cc head flows very similar to a stock LS7 GM head. After dealing with PI (Cary) on this set of heads I will never buy another product from them.

TSP sells the PI head as an option but it appears they use their own CNC port program to achieve 400+cfm.

Thnx for the info.

Btw, would you happen to have a TSP vs WCCH info?
