Best heads
The plan is to build a 408 LQ9 and aid it with a D1SC or possibly F1 procharger. I am familiar with the LT1 world and I used to have Lloyd Elliot heads on my all motor setup. I have since went to Advanced Induction 200cc heads for my D1SC'd 396 but now that I have the car down to the frame I am considering selling them along with all my LT1 stuff to do an LS. I'm looking to push this 4400 pound boat (Impala SS w cage, boxed frame, stereo, heated seats, all the weight from the blower/intercooler/piping) deep into the 10's and still be able to drive it 3 hours to the track and back and to work and back. A lot to ask, I know, but I figure if anything will get the job done it will be a F/I LS motor.
One thing I have noticed is unlike the LT1 world, there are a TON of well known L92 casting porters and the masses don't seem to push just one of them. I have seen L92 heads from Texas Speed, Golen Engine Service and countless other brands put out great flow numbers but I am just wondering if there is any one particular porter than you all hold to the highest standard for L92 head porting?
I just want the best flowing head I could get and I want to keep the cost down to around 2k or less. First hand experience would definitely be nice too, especially for those with blowers as well.
thanks!
