Ls3 block
ls3 heads tsp porting or left alone if there really isn't much to gain at that low rpm.
4.125 stroke
4.070 bore
10.4 comp
750 hp holley
Application is a jet boat. Max rpm 5500-6000. Looking for max torque 5200-5500. Low rpm drivebilty not a concern, spends 90% of the time at 4000 rpm or higher.
Cam I have now is a 226/236 .525/.525 110lc. Was thinking of going tsp 229/236 .625/.612 111 cl or the 231/238 cam that tehy offer.
Thoughts?

The difference between the cams you mention wont make enough difference to change.
Without knowing your intake design you are grasping at straws and asking for random useless answers from people who can only guess.

Right must have missed that one.
It is a single plane Victor jr.
The reason I ask is most guys usually have a problem figuring out the right cam for this application. Even in the the old sbc world it is not as cut and dried as it might seem. I can get away with really tight l/c wich is good but not a ton of lift. Beeing that these heads have been know to fusy for cam specs I thouight maybe I could get a little insight into what seems to be working so far.
Maybe Pat G will chime in.

Yes, and I probably will but I am just looking for tendensies at the moment and the reasons that the hundreds of cams produced and on the shelf are not a proper fit for this engine.
So far from what I understand most of the off the shelf cams are made for factory style intakes. They require different l/c, duration amounts , and lifts than carbed intakes. Also alot of them are for cathederal port heads that again reguire different l/c , durations, and lifts. Then there is my application which is more of a steady state running engine that requires huge amounts of tq at a given rpm (5500) but the engine will never need power past 6000 rpm. Typically we end up with a cam that is pretty big and heads that are fairly small in order to maximize tq at our predetermined rpm. Sounds easy but it is amazing how easy it is to get it wrong.
So I have $ to spend and I am just getting informed in order to make my decision and yes I probably will end up with a custom grind.
