Default Ls9 heads

GUYS
what is the differance beetween a ls9 head and a ls3 head ? streangth/ 6 bolt / port shape valve size
comp ratio ect
i thought they were the same but i see that a lot of the big shops are building LSX engines with ls9 heads in stead of the ls3 or ls7 heads ??

IIRC slight revision to swirl pattern with a fin in the intake port plus use 13mm bolts. And they are rotocast and potentially less porous due to the rotocasting method. Still 4 bolts per cylinder, 10 major bolts total.

Correct, except they are 12mm bolts vs. standard LS 11mm. Also LS9 block and heads are made from the same 356-T6 material as the C5-R block.

I believe they have thicker decks and some more material between the valves.
Also, they come with Titanium intake valve and Stainless exheust valves.

Port design and flow should equal the LS3's as far as I have been able to find out (except for the swirl wing).

look into the LSX-LS9 and LSX-LS3 heads. Newer GM 6-bolt heads based on those designs.

Sorry I'm kinda a noob when it comes to heads. But does this mean the stem will be longer on the valves for the ls9 heads vs the ls3?

I guess the more obvious question would be if the Ti valves will fit ls3/l92 heads?
