Default AFM cam swap?

So here's the story... Truck came into the shop, tick in engine. 2009 silverado. Removed both valve covers, plugged coils back in. Started engine, found noise on passenger side. Removed intake and head, drivers side rocker arms. Removed water pump, balancer, and timing cover. Removed cam bolt and plate, turned cam 1 revolution. Pulled cam out, and lifters fell down! Apparently AFM lifters DO NOT lock into retainers. Bummer.

uhh if you turned the can 1 revolution, why wouldnt you then go up top and remove the lifters BEFORE you pull the cam out?

Good luck with removing the oil pan, cause they will be sitting on top of the windage tray.

If you read the post, I didn't pull the drivers side head. Can't remove the lifters with the head still on They didn't fall into the base, the cam only came one lobe forward before they fell. Just had to pull the other head. They all came out fine.
