Is this true>>

Ok so say i have a 2008 chevy 1500 with the 4.8/4l65e combo.. i wanna put a 6.0 in it.. keep in mind it would be a 4th gen 6.0.. would the 8th vin digit have to match the vin digit of my current truck for the motor to work to recieve the crank signal? this sounds fishy to me.. can anyone confirm

No. Your 5.3 should be 58x tooth and you just have to make sure you stick with 58x tooth on the crank.

The 8th digit cannot match, as the 8th digit determines engine. Yours should be a C having a 4.8 but any 2008 6.0 will be a H, K U Y or a 5 depending on what it was used in.

I put a 6.0 in a truck originally equipped with a 4.8. Everything was fine, but with factory pcm programming it actually ran rich and set a system too rich dtc. I programmed the pcm with a vin from an SS Silverado and it worked great.
