First Hi everyone!
Second,
I have recently started my first full hot rod build a 32 ford 5 window coupe from the frame up and am unsure which direction to go with my engine. All of the other cars i have ever built utilized a gen 1 350 or 396 :o) (Oh how my father is proud.) But recently i have been getting closer to needing a powerplant and began doing some research. I would love to just get an LS9 crate and be done but the 23K is a bit steep. I want something in the neighborhood of 600 horsepower on pump gas. And i am unsure if LS1,2,3 or 7 is the best option. The rear end is still in the air depending on the engine i go with. I have 3 tranny's in my garage ready to go (700R4, muncie 4sp and a TR 6060.) Please some advice would be appreciated. (I originally wanted a LT5 since i will show the car, but there are no parts and way to expensive)
Thanks,
G
P.S.
I live in Texas so pump gas is decent here.
