I'm tryin to get a plan going for a new motor setup, I talked to bryan @ lme ( which is an awesome guy to work with ) about an NA motor. I was originally looking @ goin with an ls7 440 but I like the stronger block and thicker cylinder walls that the lsx offers also the better oiling setup. Looking @ the lsx 451 with trickflow 245 cathedral heads n custom cam and a fast 102 .... what do u guys think?

Do a 441ci (4.125 x 4.125) resleeved LS1/6. The older LS1 block (1997-1998) is arguably the strongest of them all, including stronger than the LS7 block. You can buy those suckers cheap too, then resleeve it by RED. That block will last you forever. My resleeved LS6 block is 9 years old and perfect still.

What are your plans for the motor, are you going to spray it? Plan on doing alot of trips to the track? So far I have had no issues with the ls7 block. If I were to change anything I think I would have spent the money to upgrade the crank to cut down on the rotating mass. You will need the 102 intake and either a 100mm maf or a SD tune.

I plan on staying NA, if anything i may spray off the line , but im running 4.56 gears , and i dont want to have to go up to a damn 30 in + tire...I like the idea of staying alum. for the weight saving, but ive been super impressed with the lsx blocks , seems like the best for the money....BTW pm sent to ya Brian

Gm High Tech Performance magazine had a LSX 451ci NA build that made almost 700 hp with different manifolds being tested. It was a set of articles, should be on their web site.
