376 or 408 for blower?
Not sure how a 4" stroke will handle a blower though, so I figured I'd ask..
I could drop the compression to around 9.5 or so.. Whatever you guys think would be better. But a 408 wouldn't exactly be an LS9 "Clone" then would it.. I may just do the L99 block with the stock stroke, drop the c/r and forge the bottom end. I'm planning on the LS9 blower itself too.
Stroked motors make torque at lower rpm levels than an over-square motor of the same displacement (all else equal).
Blown motors (such as street LSs) are usually low-rpm torque intensive.
So I wonder if stroking a motor and adding a blower is redundant with regard to building low end torque and perhaps deficient in terms of creating outright horsepower(which is a function of rpm as well as torque).
Another good feature to our 390 is full length keyway, stronger then pinning the factory crankshaft.
some more info about it here.
