Default 3 Valves per cylinder?? WTF??

The show "Extreme 4x4" on speed channel mentioned that the Gen IV came with 3 valves per cylinder on some of the motors...

Minute 4:18 I believe
http://powerblocktv.com/video/?ep_nu...-22&ep_show=XT

Just shitty information (what I'm thinking) or is there some mysterious head out there that no-one talks about?

Saw that also. Just wrong information being fed to the host who does not bother to research himself. There is no 3 valve GM head.

Yup bad info.. , ALTHOUGH there is such a head, it was a concept for the LS7 motor but they opted out at the last minute for the 2 valve setup.

Cool info "TheBlackPlague"! I never knew that. That head design almost looks like and after thought and can see why they went a different direction. It'd be interesting to see how it performs though!

An aftermarket company makes a 32-valve LSx head...
http://www.araoengineering.com/LSX.htm

If you do some research on the company, it's a PR nightmare.

yeah, the arao heads have been forum-wonder for a while.. never know the ls7 3 valve stuff though...

I think they've done enough ls stuff on the show to know better, so id chalk it up to editor slippage

Those Powerblock shows always have little wrong things they say from time to time. Makes me feel good when I catch one. Still mildly entertaining to watch. More so than American Top Gear.

Just saw this episode.... SO much wrong information I was basically screaming at the TV.

90 psi of fuel pressure from the stock filter??? Yea right.

LQ9 is "just like a LS1"... HAH,

Apparently the LS6 is a gen4 motor and shares no relation to a LS1.

The "tuning" information they provided was a joke... They showed 3 different pcm setups and kept going between dbw and typical cable throttle.
