Help me out here I just bought a regrind cam. XR288 238-242@ .050 with
.580-.590 lift 108lsa. Going in a 05 carbed LQ4 with 799 heads, prolly gunna mill .030-.040 off. Also with stock dished pistons ne1 know if i'll have to flycut?
Neways just wanted to see some lifter advice. Thax
A cam with a 108LSA is going to have the valves ALOT closer to the pistons at and around TDC on overlap, than a cam w/ 114 like what I have in my 6.0 dish piston engine right now. Your 238/242 cam has more duration than my cam as well, which give me more PtoV than you. I have not milled heads at all and I am at .120" on the intake .280" exhaust.
All this lead me to beleive that you are going to be very close to contact without milling at all.
Bottom line is you HAVE to check it yourself to know where your at.
