Default Lsx-dr heads

building big bore street motor on nitrous.pro's and con's of using lsx-dr heads.are they capable of being use on a street motor.
building 450ci or bigger motor.

Send the LS2 to Texas Speed and they can install Darton sleeves and make you pretty much any size engine you might want

I’m having LME put together a 440, went with the Frankenstein F710 heads. Might want to look at those.

F710 heads were not around in 2011

The heads require a specific intake manifold and a unique header. They are not like a typical LS engine in that regard. Also require a specific shaft rocker setup. Combustion chambers are 50cc, which is very small...great for high compression. Not pump gas numbers, unless your going with a dish piston. Intake ports are 313cc, which are huge. Would be lazy on a street engine. The DR heads are designed to be a drag race only (hence the DR designation) cylinder head, that live up above 7k rpm. They are very capable of making incredible power in a high rpm setup.
Having said all of that, I wouldn’t consider running a set on the street.
