08 Sierra Denali 6.2 !!!! comp 401 or 402 cam !!
Ok I have an opportunity to have a cam installed in my 08 GMC truck, and I have to make a decision by Tuesday morning as they start the work on Tusday morning. I am putting a set of milled .030 L92 stock heads with a set of PSI beehive springs, and I have purchased a vararam, intake, as well as a set of headers. I have no intent on a converter right now or gear change, maybe a different exhuast, but I like the tone of the stock denali exhaust, and I know it will get deeper with the headers.
SO NOW THE QUESTION:
I purchased 2 cams; comp 156-401-13 and comp 156-402-13; and only did that because I could not decide on which one, so I will send the one not chosen back, but which one do you guys think for my bolt on truck.
I will also be getting it tuned, for those who were wandering, however I do not know who will be the tuner as of yet, probably PCMFORLESS.
Thanks for your help,

Anyone have any knowledge as to how the 402 cam works with a stock converter, and how docile it is on the street, maybe with a T/A on a car trailer? That is the only reason I am between the two!!

401 is (214/228 .559/.571) 114 LSA
402 is (218/232 .563/.575) 114 LSA
I chose the 401 for my build because its a heavy truck and I will not put in a higher stalled converter. I also wanted it to sound fairly stock. It's not installed yet though.
Make sure they are installing the phaser limiter as well.

Did you check into this when you purchased your VVT cam?

Hopefully you have a cam matching your phaser pin position.

i do have the correct phaser to go with the camshafts, and I believe I am going to go with the smaller 156-401-13 cam, unless there is someone who has the 156-402-13 installed, primarily for the same reasons as stated above; i dont want to radical of a cam with so much weight, and having to tow some as well.
