Help me identify this engine
LFA
The Vortec 6000 LFA is a Generation IV small block V8 truck engine. The LFA variant is used in the GM's hybrid GMT900 trucks and SUVs. Major features include Active Fuel Management, a late-intake valve timing system, and a higher 10.8:1 compression ratio. It produces 332 hp at 5100 rpm and 367 lb·ft (498 N·m) at 4100 rpm.
LFA applications:
2008-present Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid
2008-present GMC Yukon Hybrid
2009-present Cadillac Escalade Hybrid
2009-present Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid
2009-present GMC Sierra Hybrid
Mystery solved.
I am going to buy it for my 6.0 build as it is an aluminum block. I already have LS2 valley and front covers. From there, it should be just like any other LS1 to LS2 conversion. Get the harness extentions and mount the LS1 type knock sensors on the side of the block.
The LFA does have the 58X reluctor wheel and the 4X cam sensor so you either need the converter box from SLP (I think) or to change the reluctor to 24X and use a 1X cam sprocket with the LS2 front cover.
Thanks again for all the help.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may complain of an engine misfire, oil consumption, blue exhaust smoke, and/or an SES light. Upon inspection, oil deposits will be found on the #1 spark plug causing cylinder 1 to misfire and set DTCs P0300 and/or P0301. Typically, this will not occur until the vehicle has accumulated at least 8,000 miles. This may be the result of excess oil splashing onto the #1 cylinder wall due to a worn #1 cam bearing. This excess oil may eventually get into the combustion chamber and foul the #1 spark plug causing the engine misfire and SES light

They don't. The thread is about a 6.0 anyway.

I'm interested in what cam options there are for this motor and any other things that need to be done to get some power outta this thing.
