Question What rockers for bigger cam in LS3?

Going to be installing a bigger cam in a LS3, will the stock rockers be fine, or should I upgrade to the Harland Sharp L92 Roller Rockers?

http://www.harlandsharp.com/ls1.htm

This will be a street car that won't see much rpm above 6,500k unless I'm having a little fun and I will be only going to the track 1-2 times per year.

I've done a little searching but doesn't seem too many people put cams in the LS3 like they do LS1's.

you could just do the trunion upgrade and save some cash.... http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-107...n-upgrade.aspx it says LS1 but they work on any LSX.

Most do not swap rockers on your average LS3 cam if you running a typical comp lobe (e.g. LSL) and not going to be living at 7000 rpm.

Go with the Comp trunion upgrade kit... I live at 0.600 lift and that's what I run.

.600 lift on what kind of lobes? But since the lift is still not above .650 you should just need a trunion upgrade. Just my .02 I'll be using the stock rockers on a .624 lift and LsR lobes and AES said I'll be fine.

Richard at WCCH has some very nice "bushed" stock rockers. They're bush with unobtanium and gets rid of the needle bearings entirely.

I run YT's and I've had one break. They quickly replaced them all explaining they had a few bad run sets get out. I'm still a little leary of them and will probably go to T&D or Jesel.

Mast makes some. They go for around $450.

L92/LS3/L76/L99 1.7 Shaft Roller Rocker Arms

They've got them in 1.7, 1.8, and 1.85 ratios... non adjustable and adjustable.

There was a bad batch of YTs a while ago. I had a few but when a company acknowledges an issue and sorts it out immediately that's enough to keep my vote.

If stock LS3 rockers will work, that would save me a lot of money, even after the trunion upgrade.

Would you say thats the limit? What average cam would you suggest if using stock LS3 rockers?

The stockers are better than alot of aftermarket ones.

You have to get pretty crazy to not use the stockers

I agree. The stock rockers are very well designed and can handle a good bit. At .600 I would save the money and put it another area of the build.

Yeah we run them up to maybe .625ish and 450 ish open but have gone a wee bit further and they still worked fine. We do some much higher lift and higher spring pressure stuff so we use aftermarket on those.
