Valve to piston contact

The engine I purchased turned out to have some damage to the valve stem on the last exhaust valve of the left bank which caused it to stick in the guide and make contact with the piston. Here is a photo after I blended and checked for cracks.

I am not really concerned about the marks on the piston I am just wondering if I should be concerned about damage to the rod bearing. I have already checked for play in the big end and it feels tight like the rest of them, I also turned the engine past TDC for that cylinder and tried to push the piston down by hand and there isn't any movement.

take the cap off and look at the bearing

What happend to make it contact? Valve float? Spring let go?

If you damaged a rod bearing severly to the point it needs to be replaced, from my experience, it would let you know
