Default Another LS3 427 cam question

2010 Camaro currently has CAI, LT with offroad exhaust and tune, with it's current cam it was at 440 HP 420 TQ last summer on a dynojet.
Cam details: 277LrR HR13
Now I'm looking at going 427 (4.1 stroke) at 12:1, with ported heads, throttle body and maybe intake. Car is a weekend/summer driver, and would like to take to the track/strip at some point.
I was happy with the cam before, but should I look at something else or save some money and stay with it?

Too small with 12-1 cr

11.4 and street sweeper would be a better choice.

I don't think I'm going to buy a new cam, but I do have an option of a used(3000 miles) one out of a Z06, with Lift 240/246 Duration .650 .650 LSA 114. That's all the info I have on it.
I'm not going for all out power, must have decent streetability like it did with my current cam, 227/243 .614 .624 113. Just realize the previous link was the wrong cam.
BTW, manual tranny with 4.10 gears.

Your building a 427 and cheaping out on the cam????? wtf!
Your current cam is wimpy in a 427.
Decent streetability is subjective.
PatG had a 231/231 LSL lobe in his DD 11-1 402
A better method might be - what idle rpm are you comfortable with?

Some lite reading

It has a smaller cam than the 240.....earlier posts had a 234/240.

I have this comp on my Ls3 416
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1414&sb=0

Just my .02, and dont wimp out on going bigger and yes you'll need a FAST the Ls3 wont cut it anymore, driveability is also going to depend on your tuner. Besides its just weekend and seasonal hotrod so go for it!
