This is a good thread. Ends up raising as many questions as it answered.

I think we need to start a list of the so called experts that called the different length a "myth".

LS7 on the LEFT, stock on the RIGHT

Here is another one..

So gentlemen what we conclude here is the actual LS7 Lifter is .050" TALLER than the stock Lifter, and requires a .050" SHORTER PUSHROD.

However to throw a curve ball in here..there are stock replacement lifters that are out there that look like LS7 Lifters, but the Cup is stock height. You just have to pay attention to detail when you look.

When you refer to that theres is a stock replacement lifter that look like LS7 ones, are you talking about part number 12499225 ? or are those the ones that are going to require a .050 shorter pushrod??

Default Michigan Motorsport lifters

Anybody ever heard of them? I haven’t seen anyone talk about them at all. I’m just wondering if they have good lifters for the price

Default Ls7 lifters in an lm7

I recently had a lifter start to go bad in my lm7 5.3 and I was looking at getting ls7 lifters to replace the stock one. I have all stock internals and I’m having trouble finding the proper pushrod length that I can run to put the proper preload and n the lifters. If anyone has any experience or knowledge on these it will be helpful.

I would get a pushrod length checking tool and measure. They're pretty cheap and easy to use.

LS7 lifters are a myth, they do not exist... well in a lot of people's minds they do.
