403 made 530/480

427 makes 577/530

Both extremely mild builds.

okay reason im asking is i have a ls6 now in my TA.. welllll it was in there. bearing issues so its pulled apart now.

local shop has a lunati stroker crank and lunati billet rods slightly used in good condition for a good price.

now, put it in my ls1 for a 383 and make maybe 430-450 or buy a ls3 block and ls3 or l92 heads and put that same crank and rods in for a 416 and make 500+...

only thing is moneys tight so I really gotta consider all my options as far as parts go.

With that sentence you need to put it back stock or just build the 383 which is still going to cost you.

I'm building a 416 and here is a little list for you

2500.....416 rot. assm. fro TSP
800.......Whole L92 motor off craigslist
1000.....Getting L92 heads ported and spring change from TSP
550.......Conversion from TSP to get LS2 timing cover and other things
2000.....FAST 102 intake with Direct Port system
400....... Custom cam from EPS
670....... Lunati tie bar lifters

Things I still need to get

950.......1 7/8 headers
450.......TSP true duals
~1100... Custom converter
550.......TB
~500.....Injectors

Things I don't have concrete prices on

Pushrods
EWP
Tubular k-member
fuel rails
Bigger mass air

You can take some of the things off my list because you might reuse a couple of things off your previous setup which in turn makes it cheaper for you

There is a bunch more nick nack stuff that I can't think of now but that stuff will nickel and dime you to death.

Going big like this costs money but it will payoff in the end, just make sure you have the budget for it. Good luck with the build

Add $1,500-$2,000 for "incidentals" that you will need.

IMO dyno numbers are for sissys.....I have a 416cid LS3 that goes just under 132mph on motor in a lightened car. Ported stock heads and intake, custom cam.

Easy there killer!

Your not on camaro5 forums, there eint no sissys here. We do know they are only tools. I use it to make sure the tune and everything else associated with it is right.

Priorities.

Is this your DD that you need to get back running asap? Then go with the 383 and take care of business.

Is it a pleasure car? Then patience is a virtue and wait till u can afford the good stuff. It's always worth the wait.
