stealth mods ok, i will be picking up a 05-06 GTO very soon. BUT, problem is i told my wife, i will not do anything more than catback, CAI, and tune. so what im wondering is what cam can i run that will be almost completely undetectable. like i want stock sound at ide and cruise. its ok if it screams at WOT because that almost never happens when she is in the car. from what i have learned the LSA gives it the lope. so i need to get the LSA up high like 116 or higher. but i would like to get some power out of the cam. any thoughts. and nitrous probably wont happen. not totally out of the question though. i just want to stay ahead of these young camaro guys around here. fastest one nearby is running 12.30's, so after the mods my wife will know about i will still be about .5 behind.

lol, maybe, but she put up with me building my camaro into a 408 with ported l92 heads, tick stage2 t56, full and i mean full suspension, 12 bolt rear spooled, race car that i never drove, just kept swapping cams to see what made better power. then sold for "beans" as she says. so i promised this wouldn't turn into that. not really whupped, just a promise i made, and am trying to find a way around

I could of folder her it was just new mufflers and what's she gonna do, say I'm lying? WTF do girls know about this topic anyway... If you didn't have the money to spend on mods and your wife made you promise you wouldn't blow money you don't have on them, then that's understandable ...but if you have the money, WTF. Tell her to go find a hobby of her own in the kitchen and stop annoying you.
I modified my LS6 with much the same objective. It has a PatrickG spec EPS cam, Trick Flow 215 Heads, stock exhaust manifolds (extrude honed), Random Technology high-flow cats, FAST 102 intake w/90mm LS2 thottle body. I have 407 rwhp/393 rwtq and it sounds stock unless you are standing right behind it at idle.

Just tell her if she don't like what guys do then become a lesbian. Then she will not have to worry about cars, video games, and all the other things guys like to do. But if you are "whipped" enough to post this up then this conversation might not work out in your favor. You may get beat for being out of line.

Do everything you were going to do anyway and just blame it all on the mufflers (in which you should get magnaflow cat back just to help). Like I say I have everything done and you can play it off easily as just a tune and loud exhaust. Just do it.

you guys are freakin hilarious. i will probably do whatever i want, but i gotta be sneaky. i have plenty of ways of getting what i want. been married 10 years, i know the ropes. but back on the topic. i like the build darkman posted, i was thinking that either keeping the stock manifolds or catted headers, to keep the crackle out. im getting older and want power without having an obnoxious racecar, hence why im going with the GTO
